Turn an open mat, seminar or tournament at your academy into a fundraiser for a domestic violence shelter near you, so every dollar raised supports survivors in your own community. There are three ways we can support your event. Choose the one that fits, or combine them.

Please note: My Bruises Are From does not collect donations or event payments through this website. Event proceeds go directly to the shelter or organization you choose.

Promote your event

Tell us about your fundraiser and ask us to help amplify it. We can share your event on our Instagram, Facebook and website events calendar.

Registered event: gear program

Join our registered event program to use official My Bruises Are From gear in support of your fundraising. Gear is provided at cost and offered at the set price / suggested donation we provide, with proceeds going to your receiving organization. Includes promotion.

What we need from you: agreement to the guidelines below, a signed partner agreement, a contact at the receiving organization, and verification of the amount donated after your event.

Ambassador appearance

Request that a My Bruises Are From ambassador join your event in person to share the mission, host a table, or train with your community. Appearances are subject to approval and ambassador availability.

What we need from you: your event date, time and venue, expected attendance, and what you’d like the ambassador to do. Please ask as early as possible.

How each request works

1. Promote your event

  1. Submit the form below and choose Promote my event.
  2. We review your event to make sure it aligns with our mission.
  3. If it’s a fit, we’ll let you know and share it on our channels.

2. Registered event: gear program

  1. Submit the form below and choose Registered event: MBAF gear program.
  2. Our team will contact you by email or phone within a week to talk through your event and confirm the receiving organization.
  3. Once approved, we’ll send the Registered Event Partner Agreement for you to review and sign, along with gear pricing and the set price / suggested donation.
  4. Gear orders and payment are arranged directly with our team, not through this website.
  5. Host your event and send the proceeds directly to the receiving organization.
  6. After the event, send us verification of the amount donated, such as a receipt or acknowledgment from the receiving organization.

3. Ambassador appearance

  1. Submit the form below and choose Ambassador appearance, or check Also request an ambassador appearance with option 1 or 2.
  2. We’ll check ambassador availability near your event.
  3. If approved, we’ll connect you with your ambassador to confirm the details.

Registered event guidelines

Registered events and the use of My Bruises Are From gear and branding come with a few commitments. These are summarized below, and the full terms are in the agreement you’ll sign once your event is approved.

  • Receiving organization. All event proceeds, and all gear donations above cost, go to the shelter or organization named in your registration. We’ll need a contact there, and we may reach out to them to confirm the partnership.
  • Gear pricing. Gear is provided to registered events at cost and must be offered at the set price / suggested donation provided by My Bruises Are From. It may not be resold for personal profit or used for unregistered events.
  • Verification. After the event, you’ll provide verification of the total amount donated to the receiving organization.
  • Name and logo. The My Bruises Are From name, logo and gear may be used only to promote your registered event, and your materials must accurately state who benefits from it.
  • Event responsibility. You’re responsible for running your event, including the venue, participant safety, and any required permits or insurance.
  • Standards. If these guidelines aren’t followed, My Bruises Are From may withdraw permission to use its name and gear and may decline future registrations.
